The Wandoor beach is just another gorgeous beach of Andaman Island, located at approximately 30 KMs from the center of capital Port Blair. The place comes under Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and is mostly popular between locals as a picnic spot. Tourists also prefer to visit this place due to its natural beauty. One of the ideal beaches in Andaman, where you could spend your day in and around sea, enjoys sand breeze, or sea ways. a great location for sunbathing and swimming. There are many food stands and other upscale stands on the beach where you can buy sea coral souvenirs. The Forest Department's museum is well worth visiting before you go to Wandoor Beach since it features a variety of sea creatures—both real and artificial—that may be found in and around the Andaman Islands' oceans. Also, it holds a brief screening of films about undersea life, which is quite relaxing to watch. Many good dhaba type restaurants are also available near wandoor museum for quick brunch or a meal.
How to reach?
The best way to get there is to take an auto rickshaw or a taxi or a rented 2-wheeler or even private buses that run all day long. One could also take advantage of special tourist buses known as Go-Go, which are provided by the local administration.
Timing
The place is open for visitors on all days from 04:00 AM to 09:00 PM. Note that swimming activity is closed by 05:00 PM.
Entry Fee
Sometime a nominal fee will be charged by local Panchayat office to maintain the place.
