The Laxmanpur beach is located in Laxmanpur Village on Neil Island. The beach is divided by two name i.e Laxmanpur – I & II. Beach No. I is located on the western side of the island and is about 2.5 kms from jetty and could be reached in 20 minutes. The place is mostly visited by tourist for its natural beauty. As the water current is quite high in the area, the beach is not suitable for swimming or any other water sports activities. One amazing thing about the beach is that it is triangle in shape, also the beach is covered with crisp and clear white sand which is free from dead coral and sea rocks making it a fun place to walk bare footed. Uprooted trees fallen on the beach also gives a calm and happy experience to its visitors.
Beach number II is rather the more visited place of Neil Island, it is also the iconic place of Neil Island as the famous "Natural Bridge" is located near Laxmanpur Beach II. You have to walk quite a few steps to see the Natural Bridge formation. Be caution that the place could only be visited during low tide, also do note that to wear suitable foot wares as to get near to the Natural Bridge you have walk on path filled with dead corals. When you walk down the footpath, you could find lots of small shops offering tea and snacks. Few shops could also be found selling gift items made up of wood and corals. It is suggest not missing the Natural Bridge as the view of the site is quite spectacular and natures wonder. It’s also one of the loved places for photography.
There are several ways to reach to Laxmanpur beach but the best is to get a pre booked cab. You could also hire a two wheeler or an autorikshaw. Few busses also play in the route.
The place is open for visitors on all days from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
