A small zoo was built by the local government in 1967 to house the wild animals and reptiles that may be found in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The little zoo was relocated to Chidiyatapu and renamed Biological Park as the area was recently transformed into a Nature Park and Interpretation Center. In comparison to a little zoo, the Biological Park has a considerably larger distributed area, which means that the wild animals' habitats are more larger and closer to those of their native habitats. This location might be visited after reaching the Chidiyatapu sunset point. Here, battery-powered cars are available to help you easily explore the area. There are numerous locations for picture shoots at the location, which the Forest Department maintains. It offers a magnificent natural ambiance and environment that is both attractive and romantic, making it a must-visit location for nature lovers and newlywed couples. The duration of your exploration of this place will be an hour.
The best way to get there is to take an auto rickshaw or a taxi or a rented 2-wheeler or even private buses that run all day long. One could also take advantage of special tourist buses known as Go-Go, which are provided by the local administration.
The place is open for visitors from Sunday to Saturday (closed on Monday) from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
